I've tried about 3/4 different ways of drawing the pixels, and apart from the erroneous page, i've been unable to see any pictures or words, apart from one which says "try harder and deeper." when visiting the URL, where am I going wrong, i've spiralled, zig-zagged and found nowt

You're on the right track. Try another direction.

Double check your code! An off-by-one error in my code had me stumped for *hours* on this one. I was sure I was doing things right but kept getting nothing. Then I over-thought it, convinced myself I was wrong, and went off on a walk in the woods playing around with Fibonacci, geometric functions, etc. Sigh.

Finally I went back to my original code and found the off-by-one error and magically an image appeared.

BTW, you can use that hint in the HTML along with the printf-school-of-debugging to eliminate any off-by-one errors.

Consider all the clues at once (which is generally true of all levels!): look at the HTML hint, read the title of the page, look at the picture of the bun. They're all related

What is the shape of the object in the top picture? Consider this first, and then think in pixels.

I get the pic, I don't get the math hint , I found the red pixels...

Either I need to know more maths, or I just don't get it!

I've even given myself days off the challenge, but I still don't get it. I did quite well up to here, but now I am completely stumped.

That's the problem. The first thing I saw was the bun, the spiral, the walking around... Aplying it to the riddle at hand is proving the problem though!

I think I'm just heading in totatlly the wrong direction...

Is it in the red dots? Or perhaps around the red dots?

Do I manipulate the indexes of the red pixels? The pixels themselves?

What about the math hint? Do I ignore it?

downward? more like clockwise...

hint: you don't need trigonometric functions for the transformation

look at the second image (in a separate picture viewer), then think of the first image and the 4 numbers in the code. figure out, how the sequence could go on...
