The lvls are getting really tough now...

As all the colors are grayvalues with R=G=B I thought at first, I can extract some sort of translation TABLE and was also encouraged by the fact, that each value occurs exactly once in this table. But sadly I wasn't able to translate anything into something useful with this table :(

I also tried to change the color palette but the only improvement I got by that was a more colorful noise...

I found a few recurrences in the imagedata but couldn't find a way to do anything useful with it - there seems to be a familiar header in the binary but i don't know how to get rid of the mess in between...

Another dead end was the fact, that the image is stored in interlaced form, but my attempts to use this somehow didn't lead anywhere

<!-- oh, and this is NOT a repeat of 14 -->

Is there more information in this hint, besides that you shouldn't do the same as in level 14?
Should the brightened area in the jpg show anything else as a zigzag?

So to sum it up: I have no idea what the hints in this level want to tell me and don't know what to do with the data :(

Don't bother with any of these notions. Look for the zigzag between the tables instead! You have the tables already, after all.

Nope

Should the brightened area in the jpg show anything else as a zigzag?

Don't bother with the JPEG.

hmm... sadly they didn't introduce themselves :( If only I knew what this tables are supposed be? Or where they might be? Or how many of them exist? And what I should do with them besides "zigzagging"? Still don't get it, where I should be looking for what..

Rhaa, I did it !
The "image part" of the riddle was a lot of fun but not very helpful.
The "keyword list part" was really disapointing: spent like 15 hours of work on decoding the list... all that for nothing.

So here is a non-spoiling hint (DON'T READ if you have spent less than 5 hours on the keyword list) :

xtxhxe xfxixrxsxtx x2x0x xwxoxrxdxsx xaxrxex xmxoxrxex xtxhxaxnx xexnxoxuxgxhx xtxox xsxoxlxvxex xtxhxex xrxixdxdxlxex.

PS: this is a great website !

hey,

i got through the first levels fairly easy, with a bit of help of a teacher, but i managed to catch up with him and we got stuck on the keyword part. i have managed to extract the list of the image.
but now i dont have a clue what to do with them
i have found a significant list in a file. and i see that they dont completly match. but im not sure im still on the right track

please help me(PM)

grtz.. dex :?:

[EDIT] : got it, hmm.. i think i was a bit insecure the way i found it. but im there, i really was with my eyes on the solution.. just ordered some glasses :P

Is it safe to assume the "tables" are in the GIF file?

Indeed, you already have the tables. ;)

ARG!

Alright, I'm really stuck here. I've found the interesting parts of the static and I can see patterns within these bytes (2 different patterns actually), but I have no earthly idea what to do with them (though I'm sure it involves zig-zagging). I also for the life of me cannot find any "magic bytes" that others have mentioned.

Edit: Thanks to MJ on IRC for getting me on the right track from the completely wrong track I was on.

I am in the same situation as cyclone13.
I see some Patterns in the Static, but no idea how to process the data.
Also no tables, no taunts, no magic bytes. :(

what's the table?

i am stuck in the level for really long time. the first time i came to
this level is 2 year ago.

i don't know what is the table. however i do find that a string of
bytes(length 149), occur repeatly.

if any large enough(length > 3) substrings of that pattern are
considered to be part of table and others "between the table", then a
familiar 3-bytes magic number can be uncovered. but i doubt that
archive actually exists. the problem lies in the 6-bytes end magic.
there are no any large enough (length > 2) substring of that magic in
the image data.

so what's the table? the image data, the pallette, or anything else?

Still no idea how to solve this. :(
I have no idea what the tables are and how to get something between them.

PM hints are highly appreciated

I have been stuck on level 27 for over a week now. I have found 5 groups of pixels in the gif, but I am getting nowhere with them. If anyone could push me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

I can't seem to find any tables. I do see a couple of patterns in the image data, but can't seem to make any sense of them. Am I looking in the right place?

Hi everyone,

like many i have some clues but don't know how to go further.
I suppose one of the table is the palette, is the other one the image data ?

The image seems to be interlaced. Is this important ?

A PM would be appreciated, i'm really stuck here.

Thanks :D

Edit: got a bit further.
I now know what the two tables are and I can see the zigzag.
There seems to be a pattern that doesn't always apply.
