I'm still having problems with making the regular expression.

(Not a spoiler below)

In the following (interactive) code, the variable ciph contains a string of the hidden text. I think this text should match all occurences of two big characters that are next to each other, but it doesn't.

  Code:
>>> import re
>>> pt = re.compile("[A-Z][A-Z]")
>>> print mt.match(ciph)
None
>>>

If I can figure out how to do this correctly, it would be a great help.

Use search() instead of match()...

Re: level 3 still working

I was long stuck at this level, but finally solved it :)

My hint is to have a look-around in the re-module.

It took me only importre ; dir(re) in IDLE to find a working solution.
I was blindly trying to use re.match(), but that didn't give.

The level was quite hard. The python part was easy. The hints were ok, but how should i know to use more the ONE letters? I think you should add hint to last part of this challenge.

Well, I made it thus far, absolutly no thanks to python in anyway.

Now I actually get a problem that I understand a little about regex and now I don't see where your getting any sequence of numbers out of this crap.

  Code:
find rare characters in the mess below:
-->

<!--
%%$@_$^__#)^)&!_+]!*@&^}@[@%]()%+$&[(_@%+%$*^@$^!+]!&_#)_*}{}}!}_]$[%}@[{_@#_^{*
@##&{#&{&)*%(]{{([*}@[@&]+!!*{)!}{%+{))])[!^})+)$]#{*+^((@^@}$[**$&^{$!@#$%)!@(&
+^!{%_$&@^!}$_${)$_#)!({@!)(^}!*^&!$%_&&}&_#&@{)]{+)%*{&*%*&@%$+]!*__(#!*){%&@++
!_)^$&&%#+)}!@!)&^}**#!_$([$!$}#*^}$+&#[{*{}{((#$]{[$[$$()_#}!@}^@_&%^*!){*^^_$^
]@}#%[%!^[^_})+@&}{@*!(@$%$^)}[_!}(*}#}#___}!](@_{{(*#%!%%+*)^+#%}$+_]#}%!**#!^_
)@)$%%^{_%!@(&{!}$_$[)*!^&{}*#{!)@})!*{^&[&$#@)*@#@_@^_#*!@_#})+[^&!@*}^){%%{&#@
@{%(&{+(#^{@{)%_$[+}]$]^{^#(*}%)@$@}(#{_&]#%#]{_*({(])$%[!}#@@&_)([*]}$}&${^}@(%
(%[@%!}%*$}(*@)}){+@(%@*$&]*^*}*]&$[}*]%]+*}^!}*$^^_()#$^]++@__){&&+((#%+(&+){)$
%&&#($[[+##*%${)_!+{_[})%++)$#))]]]$]@]@($+{&%&%+!!!@]_]+])^*@$(@#${}}#}{%}#+{(@
#__+{{]${]!{(%${%%^)(_*_@+)$]$#_@$)]](}{}$(}*%+!}#+)$%$}+#@*&^{##}+@(%[*@_}{(^]^
+_*{@+[$!!@%$+{_&(#^(([&[][[&@#+}_]&&]}^*&$&)#_^$@$((%)}+{}$#+{+^}&[#[#_+${#[#]{
(@@[%}[}$%+*#$+[%(**!$+@$@&+$_$#!_&&&&{***+)}][}#^!%#&$*)$!%}*&#}}##(^_%^]{+]&&]

Ah well, it was a good try. I was actually just trying to learn python and this looked fun, but atlast no one ever wants to make anything thats not 1000x times harder then I can accomplish with my few weeks worth of python knowledge. God for bid if someone actually made a site like this where u could come and actually learn something instead of needing 10+ years of computer science knowledge. :(

actually you are talking about level 2 and you don't need to get a sequence of numbers - as stated above you should find *rare* *characters*...

Not entirely, but you get way too much results

what is a exactly 3 ?

Well, lets see what wictionary says about 'exact'
Precisely agreeing with a standard, a fact, or the truth; perfectly conforming; neither exceeding nor falling short in any respect; true; correct; precise.

Note: please tell me how can i use python commands for this level.
Seems like you allready found the right tool, if you found 477 results

Does it involve backreferences?

No, you shouldn't need back references. This one seemed hard, but was trivial to solve with the right module once understood.

THANK YOU! This should be the first hint given. The problem isn't hard, it's entering the answer that's confusing.
