This was too easy, and funny.

Hint: you don't really need Python for this

This level seems to be the easist one so far (according to number of posts here!). Yet I am totally confused! Are the un&pw in source useless?

Nope. See what you can find out about the format. Further hints:
  • The bee in the picture makes a sound, think of that sound.
  • The hint in the password window. (admin edit)
  • Are there python modules that might apply?

I am so stuck

I just don't understand what is so easy about this one. I got through the first 7 in a day and now I have been thinking about this one for 2 days with no headway at all. I just do not get what python module is being hinted at. I hav e thrown that data at everything I can think off and tried every password based on the hints. What am I missing that is so obvious to everyone else.

Please one more bone with some meat on it.

You're missing the name of an appropriate Python module, of course. I doubt it was obvious to most people at first, but there really are clues all over this level, and all over this forum, about which one to try. How about reading all the messages here again, in a relaxed mood, not assuming you already understand all that they're saying? Casually look over the entire Python Library Manual table of contents too. It stands to reason that this is a module you haven't used before (else you would already have tried it, right?).

For me, the three magic bytes helped more than the sound of the bee or the hint in the password window.

soundsl like you didnt copy/read the two data streams correctly so the module you are using cannot identify them

Two bytes for me. I would go as far to say that this would be the most important hint. The other hints allude to this as well.
