First, I have to say I'm totally lost here. All I have is snow. Second, pardon me the OT, I'd like to know where the picture on the page of this level is from, please. Those montains look familiar to me and that really is puzzling me. :)

It is Bled lake located in Slovenia. In the center of it there is a small island with a church on it - great tourist attraction.

Then no, the place I have in mind is located in Italy. Next time I go there, I'll try and take a picture of the mountains under the right angle and put it somewhere. But there's no lake that I'm aware of there, hence the puzzling. Thanks a lot.

Very easily . There's a beautiful twist in this level that most people who posted here so far seemed to miss, and you'll know what to do if you find it. Well, you already did, but you're not looking at it ...

I can see only one (large) table, with indeed some zigzags inside, but this leads nowhere ...

The table you saw first is not usually called a table, which is why you probably didn't recognise it.

Urg, tried a lot on the gif. Even listened to it, sounded like my old c64 tapes :-), wrote a decoder, nothing.

Now I finally found the 'taunt' and I'm told to be busy. But does it refer to the gif again, or am I missing a table?

Good for you! It seems like almost everyone here "got" the other part first -- some even solved this without ever seeing what you've discovered. You're going to hit yourself when you figure out what it does refer to .

Arggh.

Despite my early success piercing the static, I haven't gotten anywhere since. No keywords, no successfully identified tables. I have seen some interesting structure in the static data, but that hasn't gotten me anywhere, either.

I think I've gotten myself stuck in a rut :(

Are you implying that the taunt is not part of the gif, but is to be found elsewhere?

No I (finally) found it in the gif, but the message it gave me didn't help much. And it seems to be referring to 'step two'. I still don't know if the first part is to be found in the gif/table.

You already found it if you found the taunt... You are probably sitting on it, or it got stuck under your foot or something. ;)

Help with keywords, please

I am working on the kw's but have not found the taunt. I thought they may tie into a kw list but apparently not. Can someone please give me a hint?

Look at what you found.
